Australia, Busselton: We are here for a few weeks and we are lucky to stay with a realy nice sports couple and have the chance to got in contact to the local Cyclists, swimmers and runners as well. This is great and makes it really special.
These guys are strong, starting their training every day between 5:30 and 7 o’clock on weekend. Currently with the temperatures around 35°Celsius – the only reasonable way. Several times a week they meet for ocean swim – of course in the beautiful indian ocean.
Very special in Busselton is the Jetty, with a length of 1,8 kilometer one of the longest jetty made out of wood. In earlier times very important for transportation of any kind of goods.
Swimming to the very end of the jetty and back is about 3,6 kilometer and it’s realy crazy going so far out into the ocean – for the strong Swimmer of Busselton not a problem at all. The jetty swim is also a swimming race which take place every year since 1996, I would like to participate…
I was also out this morning doing This swim and was a bit nervous at the beginning because of the people around me they talking all the time about the sharks and does they really like germans … But luckily an a helicopter everyday is flying and checking the shark situation on the coastline.
It’s now on my list of the most incredible swimming routes so far!
